Support for the school – from the people of Darjeeling

Jason’s use of his reward to start Hannah’s school has attracted a great deal of local publicity and both he and the school are well known in the area – not only because of the international manhunt that resulted in the arrest, but also because of general revulsion towards the crime and admiration for Jason’s philanthropy.

The Mayor and Councillors of  Darjeeling District – who have visited the school, commended Jason for his generosity, and named a new road that has been created to serve the village and school as ‘The Hannah Memorial Road’

Dr Moktan

Doctor Moktan – visits regularly, giving his time for free. He weighs and measures the children, checks for illness and disease; medication is donated by local Pharmacies or the Red Cross and Hannah’s school is now a local centre for Polio Vaccination.

Mr Sharwa

Mr Sharwa – the owner of a printing company and a school bookseller.  He generously provides Hannah’s school with official text books and work books at cost price.

Sherap Lepcha

Sherap Lepcha – the Darjeeling District Chief of Police, who supports Jason and the school.
