Our First Sponsored Event! Laithwaites Winetasting Evening
Well it was always likely to be a fun evening, but it was wonderful to be able to have fun and raise money at the same time.
On the evening of November 7th we brought together a number of friends at Chris and Roger’s house, most of whom, wisely as it turned out, had decided not to drive.
We are really grateful to Fiona Wilson, Manager of Laithwaites Surbiton, who provided us with a challenging winetasting quiz and some delightful and occasionally obscure wines. Her encyclopaedic knowledge had us all thinking we were experts, particularly after the third glass!
As a result, the thirty or so people who came managed to raise over £500 for the trust. Thankyou to them, and to Laithwaites. We can hardly wait for the second evening – to be held on December 11th.
