Vicki and Martin visit the school
Vicki and Martin Wilcock spent three weeks at the school in April 2010. Vicki is a UK qualified teacher, and her first impressions were that the school and the classes were so well organised, she wasn’t sure what she could contribute!
However, when one of the teachers fell ill, she was able to take over a class with help from other staff. She found the children a pleasure to teach – responsive, hardworking, clever and very keen. Martin helped with English lessons, and together they ran an after school homework club, which was much enjoyed especially by children who really have nowhere at home to sit and write.
They loved their time at the school, and learnt a huge amount about the people and conditions in this remote part of India.
